"Odd Little Engine"

An unusual find: a Caterpillar Front-End Loader being use to shunt cars at a feed mill in Rome, Georgia.

"Kerry Food Coatings"

Kerry Food Coatings, south of Calhoun, makes batter dips for food products. Just one of the consumers of this rail customer's products is Zaxby's Restaurants. Several ACF and AirFlow hoppers can be seen at the plant at just about any time of day.

"Plant Bowen"

Georgia Power's coal fired electric generating plant, Plant Bowen. This operation near Euharlee, receives and unloads several trainloads of coal per day via CSX and Norfolk Southern.

"Gold Kist"

Gold Kist is the second largest poulty processing company in the U.S. and it owns a large facility in Calhoun. In addition to poultry, this plant also processes and delivers food for cattle farms all across North Georgia, ranging from Carrolton to Dayton, TN.

The plant has four elevator silos and three hold-out sidings. An EMD NW2 switching locomotive handles the various shunting duties for the PS2 railcars.

"Plant Hammond"

The Hammond electric power generating facility is located just south of Rome, GA. This plant, and it's next door neighbor Inland Container, have their own rail yard's that are serviced by Norfolk Southern railway.
